Briggs Mechanical was started in 1997 by Michael Briggs after having a successful career installing and servicing commercial HVAC equipment for the Trane Company, which is part of the Pipefitters/HVAC union in Boston, Local 537. Michael started the company with the idea of giving people "Quality you can take comfort in!" Thus the birth of the company's slogan.

Briggs Mechanical has been an exclusive Trane dealer since opening its doors in 1997. The company has developed into one of the largest Trane dealerships in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
